The Forest Translators

Telus’s Storyhive’s documentary pitch project has just opened for public voting. They will be awarding 30 projects $50,000 to complete a documentary film.

The Forest Translators is a doc that spreads a parallel story about growth in strength and beauty through adversity. The film looks at how Trees yield magical traits such as heal overs, burls, figure, spalt, and birdseye. All from the hardships they endure. Allying these traits we share stories of true wood craft makers and how they grow through their challenges and approach to life. Interluded with animated anatomical glimpses into the roots of words and supported by interviews from experts in the mental health and forestry sector this film will see to reshape your perspective on adversity, language and strength.
